Little Free Pantries don’t have to be permanent to work. In workplaces, schools, churches, and neighborhoods, a simple shelf, crate, or box can help get food to folks who need it.

A pantry can pop up for a day, a week, or a season. What matters is the sharing, not the structure.

The YMCA is partnering with Dare to Care Food Bank to launch a community food drive supporting families in need.

Now through November 23, donation boxes are available in every YMCA of Greater Louisville branch. Please bring items like:
-Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, salmon, beans)
-Nut butters
-Grains and shelf-stable milk
-Canned vegetables
-Breakfast items
-Cooking basics like oils and spices

We are hosting a food drive from November 5-12 from dawn to dusk to help those who may be experiencing food insecurity.

All donations will help stock the shelves at the Bread of Life Food Pantry- Kentucky in Goshen. Over the last few weeks alone, the number of clients visiting the food pantry has skyrocketed.

🥫To donate food items at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve, visit one of our three drop-off locations: at the Nature Center, the Forest Friends Playground, and in the breezeway entry to the office (part of Mahan Manor). Each location will have signage and bins to deposit canned goods and a separate one for boxed items.

The donation bins will be available from dawn to dusk starting tomorrow and through the weekend, ending on Wednesday, November 12.

Please donate:

💚Cans of fruit, vegetables, beans, and canned soups
💚Cans of meat, including spaghetti and meatballs, tamales, tuna, chicken, and others
💚Boxed cereals, oatmeal, and pastas

NO GLASS ALLOWED.

Four Pegs Smokehouse and Bar, located at 1053 Goss Avenue, will be giving out meals for four to "whoever needs it," according to a social media post.

Hi all, please spread the word that metro United Way will also be able to help folks in OC starting Friday. The website seems to be getting slammed so calling 211 is also an option (and overall, callling 211 can put people in touch with other resources for help with utilities, etc).

Recipients expecting their monthly SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits are at immediate risk of losing access to this critical nutrition support.
