Our mission is to provide support for individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking.

•Help establishing independence & utilizing community resources
•Assistance with Crime Victim Compensation & legal aid

All services are available at no cost to individuals within Gunnison & Hinsdale Counties.

This June marks the 57th anniversary of Pride Month in the United States — a time to celebrate love, identity, resilience, and the many contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community.

At Project Hope, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued for who they are. Pride Month is an opportunity to honor the strength of LGBTQIA+ individuals, amplify their voices, and reaffirm our commitment to being allies in our community.

While Pride is a celebration, it is also a reminder that many LGBTQIA+ individuals continue to face higher rates of violence, discrimination, and barriers to accessing support. Allyship means listening, learning, speaking up, and helping create communities where everyone can thrive.

This month and every month, we stand with the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you for the love, creativity, diversity, and strength you bring to our community. Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Did you know that Project Hope has served Gunnison County since 1984?
The organization began as the Jubilee House after a generous community member donated their home to create a battered women's shelter. A dedicated volunteer Board of Directors led the organization in its early years and helped build a foundation of support for survivors in our community.

Over time, the organization evolved and merged with other support services, becoming Project Hope in 2014. Today, we support individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking through advocacy, resources, and compassionate care.

Community partners, volunteers, donors, and supporters like you make this work possible. Because of your generosity, we can continue providing critical services, safety, and hope to those who need it most.

Healing from trauma is not linear. Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking often carry lasting emotional, physical, and psychological impacts long after the abuse ends.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we stand with survivors by listening, advocating, supporting, and caring — today and always. 💜

Denim Day has become a global campaign standing with victims in solidarity and support, honoring survivors, and raising awareness around consent and safety. Project Hope staff are proud to wear jeans today in solidarity with survivors and to help spark important conversations in our community. Together, we can promote respect, support healing, and work toward a future free from violence. ,

In recognition of April being Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, Project Hope is proud to partner with Gunnison County, CO Government, Gunnison Valley Health, Western Colorado University (WCU), and Take Back The Night to host a community march and gathering.

No registration is required. The event will begin at WCU's University Center, followed by a 0.6-mile walk ending at IOOF Park. This gathering is an opportunity to empower, support, educate, and advocate for victims and survivors.

Music, community partners, and light food and refreshments will be provided. Join us for an evening of solidarity and community connection.

Every 62–68 seconds, someone in the United States is sexually assaulted.

Although April was officially recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month in 2001, survivors and activists began pushing for awareness and change decades earlier – and the need for this work remains urgent today.

Survivors have always been here. So, our support, awareness, and prevention efforts must too — this month and every month.

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, Project Hope will be sharing resources — national, state, and local — to help educate, support, and connect our community and those that need it most.
