Work continues moving forward on the new Sports Courts Project at Creighton Community Park and we will really be picking up speed here in the next few weeks.

Current estimated timeline:

• Fence installation: Week of May 11 (shipping delay pushed original dates back)
• Dirt work completion: May 10
• New light poles: May 11
• Cement sidewalk from court to road: May 13–14
• Reinstallation of game day fence barrier: By May 15
• 8 new Crimson Spire Oak trees planted along West side: May 18
• New sprinkler drip lines to new trees: May 19
• Hoops, nets, and Sport Court Prime Play surfacing: Scheduled for two trips before the end of May.

Estimated court completion date: June 1

Thank you to everyone continuing to volunteer, donate, haul dirt, trench conduit for new lights, and everything else to help move this project forward for the community!

The Creighton Community Foundation Fund provides Knox County Fair ride wristbands to local elementary students who reach their reading goals.

It is a way to recognize effort, encourage learning, and celebrate achievement.

Programs like this show how small investments can make a lasting impact.

While we wait for our new sports courts fence to arrive (should be here next week), let’s start highlighting the people helping bring this project to life.

The Creighton Community Foundation Fund awarded the Park Board $15,000. Their youth group also secured a $10,000 Youth Engagement Grant through Nebraska Community Foundation for this project.

This idea moved forward with a group of kids who wanted something better and they’ve helped push it from day one. Today they picked out colors for the sports surfacing! Photo below, youth group members getting certificates from Creighton Community Foundation Fund at Honors Day.

More to come! Thank you everyone!

Work is underway on the new sports courts at Creighton Community Park.

An unusable space is being replaced with something the community can use every day.

The Creighton Community Foundation Fund has committed $15,000 to this project. The Youth Group also secured a Youth Engagement Grant through the Nebraska Community Foundation to help move this work forward.

Projects like this happen because people show up, contribute, and invest in their community.

This is one example of what local investment can do.
