Pronouns can be tricky! Maybe it’s your first time using they/them to refer to a single person, or maybe a loved one is transitioning and wants to use a pronoun that affirms their gender identity—but is new to you. Whatever the case may be, there are lots of ways to learn, honor, and use someone’s pronouns. Here are a few to get your started:

• Try a role play with someone (who is NOT your LGBTQ+ loved one) to help you understand what it feels like to be misgendered.
• Write a story about your loved one using their affirmed name and pronouns.
• Make a gender jar and put $1.00 in the jar every time you make a mistake.

What tricks have you used to learn someone else’s pronouns? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

It’s been ten years since “San Junipero,” the groundbreaking episode of Black Mirror, aired. Though it’s been a decade, the impact of the story remains, and lives on in new formats.

Support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community impacted by the Spokane fires.

In the wake of the Spokane Complex Fires, thousands of our neighbors, friends, and family have experienced sudden loss, disruption, and displacement. While we know that everyone who has been impacted will have a challenging road to recovery, we also recognize the unique challenges of our 2SLGBTQIA+ neighbors as they begin to rebuild. To help our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members who have been affected by the fire, Spectrum has established the Rainbow Relief Fund designed to provide support for essential needs, resources, and recovery efforts.

2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and families impacted by the fires can sign up for assistance at tinyurl.com/rainbowrelief. Please note that a Consent to Services form will need to be signed and submitted before receiving assistance. We can help with:

-Financial assistance for temporary housing
-Document updates and replacements
-Transportation
-Gender affirming products and services
-Clothing and body shapewear
-Basic hygiene products
-Medication replacement assistance
-Resource navigation
