🦃🎯 Another SUCCESSFUL JAKES Take Aim Event! 🎯🦃

What a great day at the 48th Annual StreetScene! We were so excited to bring our JAKES Take Aim trailer back out and give the kids a chance to enjoy some FREE BB gun shooting and Nerf turkey shooting! 🇺🇸

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and supported us and especially to all the kiddos who stopped by to take aim! Seeing their smiles and excitement is exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

We are incredibly thankful for our amazing NWTF committee and the Alleghany High School FFA Chapter for always stepping up and helping make these events possible. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Events like this are about more than just shooting, they’re about introducing the next generation to the outdoors, conservation, and the traditions we love. 🦃🌲

The Alleghany Highlands Longbeards NWTF will be set up Saturday at StreetScene in front of Mountain Rush on Main Street with our JAKES Take Aim Trailer!

Bring the kids by for: 🟠 FREE BB 🔫 Range 🦃 FREE Nerf 🔫 Turkey Shoot

This is a fun, safe, hands-on activity where kids can learn basic shooting safety, build confidence, and enjoy some friendly competition, all at no cost!
Whether they're first-time shooters or just looking for something fun to do, we'd love to see them stop by and take their best shot!

📍 Location: In front of Mountain Rush on Main Street
📅 When: Saturday during StreetScene

Just look at this beautiful sight, 3 hens with their poults thriving. This is why we do what we do. Beyond the hunt, it's about conserving habitat, mowing, planting, and giving wild turkeys the cover and food they need to flourish. We're proud to be part of something bigger protecting a tradition, and a species, for future generations.

Please say a prayer for Billy Hall

Please keep our friend and Virginia NWTF Regional Director, Billy Hall, in your prayers.

Billy is currently in UVA Hospital battling cancer and has been experiencing periods of severe pain as of late. His doctors are trying to determine whether surgery is the best course of treatment.

Please pray for relief from his pain, strength for the days ahead, wisdom and guidance for his medical team as they make this difficult decision, and comfort for Billy and his family.

Billy has given so much to the outdoor community and to others over the years. Now is the time for all of us to lift him up in prayer and surround him with our love and support.

Our first JAKES event of the 2026 season is in the books!
The VA250 Celebration was packed, and the kids had an absolute blast. We welcomed 108 kids through our activities, giving them the opportunity to shoot at the BB 🔫 range or test their skills at the Nerf Turkey Shoot.
For many of these kids, it was their very first time handling or shooting a 🔫 , making it an exciting and memorable experience. Seeing their smiles and confidence grow throughout the day is exactly what JAKES is all about.
A special thank you to the Alleghany FFA students and their advisor, Mrs. Reed, for their support and help in making this event a success.
We can't wait to do it again, we'll be back at StreetScene!
