Photos at our last night's regular Bi-monthly meeting. Special guests inlcuded Alleghany Highlands Regional Library Director Lisa Sponaugle, Alleghany Highlands Public Schools Superintendent Kimberly Halterman and School Board Member Jonathan Arritt, and Previous Alleghany County School Board Member and JLU volunteer Richard Shull. Pictured with them are JLU Chairman Deacon Greg Rice, JLU Treasurer Deacon Jimmy Barber, JLU Learning and Resource Center Coordinator Deloris Quarles, and JLU Volunteer Evangelist Tamala Preston (TamalaTimothy Preston ) who is also the Co-Founder of Family and Life Changers Outreach Ministries. Others in attendance but not pictured were JLU Founder Marie Fitzpatrick (Via Video), JLU Financial Secretary Bishop Isaiah Freeman III, and more (a complete list of attendees will be added soon). Bi-Monthly Regular Juneteenth Legacy United Meeting has been changed. The new Date is October 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm EST being held at New Dimensions Christian Fellowship located at 201 E. Pine St., Covington, VA. If you are intersted in learning more about our non profit organization, interested in volunteering for future events, or have questions, we invite you to come. Today's Back to School Celebration was a huge success. Thanks to everyone for your donations, volunteering, and for helping us give to the children and families to assist in making their school year a success. We were able to help about 80 children. Special thanks toBishop Isaiah Freeman III with New Dimensions Christian Fellowship (Volunteering & D.J), Tiffany Billups (Free Braids) our local Total Action for Progress (TAP) organization (20 backpacks & pantry foods to give away), Alleghany Highlands Public Library (Free Books), Clifton Forge Public Library (Free Books), Adrian Michael Farms (Fresh Hamburger), YMCA (participation), Calloway Enterprises Inc LLC (Bouncy House Inflatable), Family and Life Changers Minitries (Evangelist Tamala & Minister Timothy Preston Volunteering, photos, & Video), Greg Rice and Wanda Jones (Endless Volunteering), Local Churches & other organizations for their volunteerism and support.
