Volusia Valor Days is proud to welcome a very special guest speaker this year, William R. Hogan, who will be joining us to share the remarkable story of his father and the armored soldiers who fought across Europe during World War II.
William Hogan is the son of Colonel Robert B. Hogan, commander of the legendary Task Force Hogan, a powerful armored combat formation of the U.S. Army’s 3rd Armored Division during the war in Europe. Task Force Hogan played a key role in the hard-fought campaigns of 1944–1945, including the brutal winter battles of the Battle of the Bulge, where American armored forces helped blunt and ultimately defeat Hitler’s last major offensive in the West.
Drawing from family history, research, and firsthand accounts, William Hogan will discuss the formation and combat operations of Task Force Hogan, as well as the broader story of U.S. armored warfare in World War II; the tanks, tactics, and soldiers that helped drive Allied forces across Nazi-occupied Europe.
This is a rare opportunity to hear the personal story behind one of the U.S. Army’s wartime armored commanders and gain deeper insight into the men and machines that carried the fight to the enemy.
Presentations:
Saturday, March 28 – 11:15 AM
Sunday, March 29 – 11:15 AM
Location:
WW2 Armor Stage (near the DJ Booth)
Whether you're a history enthusiast, armor fan, or simply curious about the stories behind the vehicles you'll see at the event, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss.
Join us at Volusia Valor Days and experience the history of American armored warfare told through the legacy of the men who fought it.
That is all.

We are D-17 days until the 3rd Annual Volusia Valor Days!
We'd like to share some tips for those planning on attending the event March 28th and 29th.
1. The event is FREE and parking is FREE! Parking is on the the west and east side of the main fairgrounds complex (visit our website for an event map). You can enter the event either from Highway 44 to the north of the event or N. Prevatt Ave. to the east of the event grounds.
2. It is going to be LOUD, especially during the tank/artillery salute fires and during the WWII battle reenactment at 2:00 PM. We highly recommend noise protection for anyone sensitive to loud noises, and recommend keeping animals at home if they are bothered by loud noises. We will have ear plugs available if you do not have any.
3. You are more than welcome to bring chairs and pop up tents to set up along the battle reenactment field. The viewing area normally gets filled up around 1 PM, so we recommend setting up a bit early to ensure you have a great view! Pro tip - the main action will be in the center of the battlefield, and the closer you are to the DJ booth the better 😉!
4. There will be several wonderful food trucks and vendors on site both days.
5. Its Florida and you never know how the weather will be, but as of right we are looking at a high in the upper 70s each day! This is an outdoor event, so despite the beautiful weather we recommend sun screen and please stay hydrated!
6. Its going to be an awesome event!
That is all.
