That's a wrap for the seventh annual Strike a Chord for Hayden C. Miles benefit concert!

The event was a huge success. So many wonderful people showed up and shared music, stories, and more. We also raised over $1,000 to help Merit School of Music remove barriers to high-quality music education!

Thank you to everyone who attended the concert, donated, or supported the event in any way. Thank you to the fantastic volunteers; to the amazing bands who volunteered their time and talents, Spingo, Roswell, The J3 Experience, and Silver Dollar; to A Sound Education, who lent us their PA; and to Amy, the Director of Development Operations at Merit School of Music, who came out to attend the concert. You all helped make this concert so special, and we appreciate you all.

Hayden, we hope you felt the love from all of us.

FIVE DAYS until this year's Strike a Chord for Hayden C. Miles Benefit Concert!!! At this year's event, volunteers will be serving thick crust slices from Nonnas Pizza! You can get a cheese, pepperoni, or sausage slice for $5.

LESS THAN ONE WEEK until this year's Strike a Chord for Hayden C. Miles Benefit Concert! Catch the free seventh annual concert on Saturday, August 2nd, from 6:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M. at Countryside Park in Countryside, Illinois.

New this year are Strike a Chord t-shirts! These t-shirts will be worn by volunteers as well as sold for $15.

Less than two weeks until this year's FREE concert in loving memory of Hayden C. Miles! 2025's seventh annual Strike a Chord will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, from 6:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M. at Countryside Park in Countryside, Illinois.

Enjoy the performing bands and donate what you can to support Merit School of Music, a place that removes barriers to high-quality music education so that all children can experience the transformative power of music. This year's concert will feature the bands Spingo, Roswell, The J3 Experience, and Silver Dollar. The concert will be sponsored by A Sound Education, a music store in Brookfield, Illinois that not only sells instruments and gear, but offers lessons and repair services.

Hayden was a young man in our community who went to Lyons Township High School. He was a kind and talented individual involved in many different activities including Boy Scouts, archery, and band. He participated in concert band, marching band, pep band, jazz band, and pit orchestra, and was well known for his skill. After Hayden passed away in March of 2018, the first Strike a Chord for Hayden C. Miles Benefit Concert was planned and executed in August of 2019. The goal of these concerts is to set aside some time to be together, listen to some great music, and remember Hayden; concerts are always free and open to everyone. Proceeds from each year's concert go toward a music-related charity, as Hayden was such a fantastic musician.
