What a great day at our show! Everyone learned so much, gained valuable experience, and made progress both in and out of the arena. It was wonderful to see riders working hard, supporting one another, and having fun throughout the day.

We are so thankful for our amazing judge, Matt Livengood, for taking the time to share his knowledge and work with each rider to help them improve. We also want to give a big thank you to our wonderful scribe, Haylee Hackett, and our fabulous gate lady, Jodi Jordet, for all of their hard work behind the scenes. Your willingness to help others kept the day running smoothly and made this event a success. Another thank you to Dave Wilson for working the ground this morning for us before anyone got there! You all are AMAZING!!!

A huge thank you also goes out to all of the exhibitors, families, and supporters who came out and participated. We appreciate each and every one of you for your support and for helping create such a positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the day.

We are already looking forward to seeing everyone next month for our next clinic and show! Keep up the hard work, continue practicing what you learned, and we will see you at the next one. Thank you all for making it such a fantastic day!

If you have other pictures from today we would love to see them in the comments!

Join us next Thursday and Friday, May 28th and 29th, for the first clinic and show of our Buckle Series!

We are excited to welcome clinician and judge Matt Livengood, an NRHA, AQHA, and NRCHA carded judge. Matt judged at the 2020 AQHA World Show and has also found great success in Mustang Makeovers, including winning the Reno, Nevada Makeover in 2017 and earning another championship title in Cle Elum, Washington in 2019.

Check out these awesome High Point buckles and show pad awards that competitors will be riding for throughout the series! We cannot wait for a great couple of days full of learning, showing, and fun competition.

A huge thank you to all of our buckle and award sponsors for helping make this event possible. We truly appreciate your support!

See you there!

Our 4-H members recently competed at the District Horse Judging event held at the Payette County Fairgrounds. The kids judged six different classes throughout the day and worked hard practicing their decision-making and horse knowledge skills. Everyone represented our club well, and it was great to see their confidence and teamwork grow throughout the event.

We are excited to share that Charlotte Greenwood placed 4th in the Individual Junior Division. In the Senior Division, Grace Ashton placed 2nd individually and Elise Shumway placed 5th individually. Both Grace and Elise qualified to compete at the state contest!

We also want to recognize Harper Paradis, Amelia Power, and Lainey Myers in the Junior Division, along with Michael McDonald in the Intermediate Division, for competing in horse judging for the very first time. Although only the top five individuals in each division received placings, these members all did an awesome job, worked hard, and gained valuable experience throughout the day. We are proud of all of our members and the effort they put into this event!

The Cuddy Mountain Riders 4-H Club is excited to announce that we will be hosting a buckle series this year at the Adams County Rodeo Grounds!

In addition to the show, our judges have generously offered to put on clinics the day before. The clinic is open to any rider and is an awesome opportunity to learn from experienced clinicians and judges and grow skills in and out of the arena!

Our clinician/judges this year are Matt Livengood, Matt Zimmerman, and Jake Flint. All well versed in teaching clinics and also successful showmen themselves.

We will be awarding 4 buckles, one for each division!

We’re looking forward to a great turnout and hope both youth and adult riders will come join us for this fun and educational event.

This buckle series is also a fundraiser for our club, and we truly appreciate all the support from our community. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Today the Cuddy Mountain Riders competed in their very first Horse Bowl competition! We had two junior teams represent Adams County, and we are so proud of each of them for stepping up, trying something new, and challenging themselves. Our group was also the youngest team at the competition, which makes their effort and courage even more impressive.

Horse Bowl isn’t easy. It takes knowledge, quick thinking, and the confidence to speak in front of others. These kids showed courage, teamwork, and determination throughout the competition. While the results didn’t go our way this time, every single one of them walked away with more knowledge, stronger speaking skills, and valuable experience for the future.

Sometimes the biggest wins come from learning, growing, and getting back up to try again.

Congratulations to both teams for representing our club so well. This is only the beginning, and we are excited to see how much they continue to grow!
