We are proud to celebrate the incredible women who make up this year’s Women of Color Leadership Program Cohort. These leaders represent the strength, talent, and resilience that continue to move our communities forward.

Each woman brings her own story, passion, and commitment to creating positive change. Together, they are building connections, strengthening leadership, and uplifting the voices of women of color across our community.

Dulce is a first-generation Latina, daughter born in the United States to immigrant parents from Mexico. She is bilingual in both the English and Spanish languages. She continues to live the American dream through hard work. From growing up in poverty in central Nebraska, financing her college education to earn a master’s degree, serving in HR leadership roles in several industries, starting her HR Consulting business, to following her Father’s footsteps in community service. As her dad was a minister, her legacy is about creating “Hope/Esperanza” for others as he did. How we make others feel in each conversation, can save a life.

✨ New Logo, Same Powerful Mission ✨

We’re proud to unveil the new logo for the Women of Color Leadership Program, now housed under The CommUnity Project. This new look represents growth, leadership, and the collective strength of women of color stepping into their power and purpose.

This evolution marks an exciting new chapter as we continue building pathways for leadership, connection, and opportunity. We are deeply grateful to the Iowa West Foundation for their support in making this program possible and helping invest in the next generation of women leaders.
