This is an early/long post for this team because we just started putting this puzzle together. Now they are all the same age group, they will grow together for a long time and the painting will be beautiful!!
These girls are SPECIAL!!
9AM to 11 PM at the fields. Fourteen hours of softball. Then a two-hour drive home for our families and coaches. After FOUR International Tie Breakers, our girls came up just short in the championship game.
Yeah… you have to LOVE what you do to live this life. And I absolutely do. ❤️🥎
This game isn’t for the weak. Coaching isn’t for the weak. Being a softball parent damn sure isn’t for the weak. 😂 These weekends are long. They’re exhausting. They test you physically, mentally and emotionally. But then I look at these girls, our parents and the coaches standing beside me, and I’m reminded exactly why I keep doing it.
To my girls: I’m proud of you. Not because of a trophy or where we finished, but because you battled. You competed. You kept answering the bell every time you were challenged. Four ITBs in a championship game tells you everything you need to know about the fight in this group. Keep growing, learning and believing in each other. I absolutely love coaching you girls and being a part of your journey.
To our parents: THANK YOU. You sacrifice more than people ever see. The money, travel, hotels, early mornings, late nights, long drives home and countless hours sitting at ballparks. None of what we do is possible without you. I appreciate the trust you put in us to coach, push and love on your daughters.
To my coaches: Thank you for being in the trenches with me. For the time, the conversations, the teaching, the frustration, the laughs and everything that happens behind the scenes that nobody sees. I appreciate you more than you know.
And a very special shoutout to one of my former players, Ava Hernandez — a TWO-TIME COLLEGIATE CHAMPION — who took time away from her busy master’s schedule to come spend time with these young ladies. That means more to me than I can put into words.
For these girls to have someone who once stood where they stand now come back and pour into them, talk to them and simply be present — that’s what this is all about. The game eventually ends, but the relationships and the impact we make on the next group can last forever.
Tired? Absolutely!💪🏽💪🏽Proud? Beyond words💪🏽💪🏽
Would I wake up and do it all over again?
Every💪🏽Damn💪🏽Time💪🏽
I love these girls. I love our softball family. And I absolutely love what I do. 🙏🏽🥎💪🏽
It’s not for the weak… and neither are we🙏🏽🔥💪🏽
