✨️Adoptions✨️

We are so excited for our recent adoptions: Mama Mia, Vicky, and Chachi! 💖

Mama Mia was found as a stray, fending for herself and her two babies. A foster lovingly took in the whole family! Unfortunately, Mama Mia tested positive for heartworms. Heartworms are parasites that are transmitted through mosquito bites and can cause serious health issues if left untreated which is why it is so important to keep pets up to date on monthly heartworm prevention. Fortunately, Mama Mia received the treatment she needed to make a full recovery! Her family is so excited to meet her, they are flying all the way to South Texas to pick her up and drive her back to their home in Colorado! ✈️

Vicky was found inside a refinery. She was in heat and had attracted a male dog that had been living in the refinery for at least a year but couldn't previously be caught. Our volunteer scooped both pups up! Vicky tested positive for heartworms and also received the treatment she needed to make a full recovery. Once starved with every rib showing, Vicky is now the happiest girl knowing she is safe and loved! 🐾

Chachi was surrendered to our local animal control when her owner was no longer able to take care of her and her brother. Because a foster stepped up, we were able to save both Chachi and Marshall! Chachi loves every person and dog and we are excited that she will be joining a new family with other fur-siblings! 🏡

Two super sweet and cuddly kittens are looking for a foster home in Corpus Christi, TX 🏡 All supplies will be provided!

These kittens were found living inside of a recliner when items were set out for bulk trash pickup. A neighbor brought them inside and has been caring for them but cannot continue fostering. Is anyone able to help hold them until they're old enough to receive all of their vetting? ❤️ They are so much fun and are sure to keep you entertained! 🐱🐱

✨TNR✨

Last week, we trapped 5 TNR kitties and also rescued 2 tiny kittens who were found living inside a recliner left out for bulk pickup. Thanks to a compassionate neighbor, the kittens are safe in temporary foster care until the end of the month. 🐱

We will need a foster starting at the end of the month to keep caring for the two kittens until they’re old enough to be fixed and adopted. All supplies will be provided!🏡

Our TNR group included 2 females and 3 males, one of whom needed medical care for an abscess near his face. We’re so grateful to our amazing vet partners for treating him, to the neighbor who offered a quiet space for his recovery, to the neighbors who stepped up to foster and donate supplies, and to the incredible neighbor who tirelessly watches over not just this colony but countless cats in her neighborhood — trapping, hosting recovery, fundraising, coordinating, and always going above and beyond!
It truly takes a community, and we couldn’t be more thankful for ours ❤️

✨Adoptions✨

Our hearts are so full with the recent adoptions of Sasha, Binx, Gorda, Bonnie, and Clyde! Each of these pets is so deserving of the safe and loving furever homes they are now part of. We are especially excited for Sasha, a dog previously living on a chain that is now going to have a life full of happiness, hikes, adventure, and love; and Binx, a FIV+ kitty with a heart of gold who came from a high-risk neighborhood and joined his wonderful family which includes another FIV+ kitty! No matter how long they’re with us, each of our pets holds a special place in our hearts.

To the families who opened their homes and hearts: thank you. You’ve not only changed their lives, but you’ve made room for us to rescue even more pets in need.

Here’s to fresh starts, second chances, and lots of love ahead! 🐾💖

*Update: foster found! 💕

We want to help these two chihuahuas from our local animal control in Corpus Christi, TX but can only do so with a foster! Does anyone want to foster one or two super sweet pups? They are 3 years old and already vetted. They need a foster by 5:30 pm today. Please share!

In the past few days, we’ve gotten several requests to help with TNR projects, and our hearts are SO full seeing people care for their community cats 🐾💛 The need is growing, and we’d love a little help making sure every kitty gets the care they deserve!

Here are a few ways you can jump in and make a big difference:

💤 Host a kitty sleepover! Give a recovering cat a quiet place to rest overnight after surgery. A spare bathroom or cozy corner is perfect—we’ll show you exactly what to do and provide everything you need!
🚗 Be a kitty chauffeur! Help with rides to and from vet appointments.
🏡 Open your home to foster! We’re looking for fosters for kittens, mamas with babies, and any sick or injured kitties we find during TNR.
🥫 Donate supplies! We’re in need of traps and wet cat food (plastic containers like Iams Perfect Portions are amazing! Find the wet food on our wishlist here: https://a.co/0gqvyYGJ)

Every little bit helps, and together we can make life so much better for these community kitties 🐱✨

Update: Transport found!

🐾 We are looking for a Pet Uber for Thursday morning, 4/30! 🐾

We are so excited for Sasha 🐶, Binx 🐱, and Bonnie 🐱 who will be transporting to their furever homes on 4/30! We are looking for transport assistance for 1 dog and 2 cats from Corpus Christi, TX to Converse, TX. The driver would need to leave Corpus Christi by 5:30 am and arrive in Converse at 8 am to meet the transport that will be taking these lucky pets to their Colorado and PNW homes! All crates and carriers will be provided and gas expenses will be covered! Please let us know if you can help!

Sweet Sasha, in the video, is finally getting the life she always deserved ❤️ Once a chained dog, trying to keep her 6 puppies from running into the street, now the happiest, most thankful girl. Sasha was the best mom and gave everything she could to her puppies. Her puppies were quickly adopted and she has been patiently waiting for her turn. During her time in foster care, Sasha's personality immediately started to shine. This girl is SO happy to be worry-free and finally get to experience puppyhood herself. She loves playing with her foster's dogs, knows to be extra gentle around little kids, and loves the simple things in life that she should have always had -regular meals, a home to keep her safe and out of the elements, and people that love her. Thank you to the fosters that stepped up to make it possible to save Mama Sasha and all of her babies 💞

We are so thankful to the SWATT Team for getting our sweet Lovey girl home!

When Lovey’s adopter began searching for the perfect pup to join her family, distance wasn’t a concern. She found Lovey posted with a transport destination more than six hours from her home and knew the trip would be worth it. Once we saw what a perfect match they were and how dedicated this family was to bring Lovey into their home, we reached out to the Southwest Animal Transport Team (SWATT). SWATT is a non-profit team of Southwest Airlines employees, dependents, retirees and dedicated volunteers who lovingly donate their time and flight benefits to transport rescued pets. What would have been a multi-day road trip turned into a quick and easy journey thanks to SWATT, who arranged a direct flight for Lovey!

Lovey’s story begins with a decision no pet owner ever wants to face. Her devoted mom, navigating a high-risk pregnancy, made the incredibly selfless choice to surrender Lovey—placing her beloved companion’s future above her own heartbreak. With multiple jobs, children, and mounting responsibilities, her priority became the health and safety of her growing family. It was a moment defined by sacrifice… but also by love. And then—something extraordinary happened.

In what can only be described as fate, Lovey’s adopter is a Physician Assistant in a NICU, caring for fragile newborns facing the very same complications Lovey’s mom is enduring. A powerful, full-circle moment—where compassion meets purpose, and healing finds its way back around.

Now, Lovey begins a new chapter—one where she will offer comfort, companionship, and unconditional love to someone who gives so much of herself to others every single day.

🐾 PAWS ON THE PIER — OUR AMAZING DOG PARTICIPANTS! 🐾

From tiny trotters to big, joyful striders, our four-legged friends absolutely stole the show at the Paws on the Pier 5K & 1K Wag Walk! 🐶✨

These pups brought the energy, the smiles, the wiggles, and the wagging tails that made the day so much fun! Whether they sprinted, strolled, sniffed their way through the course, or simply came to cheer everyone on, every single dog played a special part in this event and we loved seeing all the sweet faces wearing their Paws on the Pier bandanas proudly! A special thank you to our Dog Bandana Sponsors, Paradigm Wellness and Infinity Insurance!

🐾 Paws on the Pier 🐾

What an incredible day this was at our 5K & 1K Wag Walk! From energetic runners to tail-wagging walkers, the community came together in the best way to support Dreaming of Furever Animal Rescue and our mission.

We loved seeing all the happy pups (and even a kitty!), smiling faces, and the overwhelming spirit of compassion that made this event so special. Because of you, we’re able to continue our mission of helping cats and dogs find their furever homes while supporting the community.
