Today we had the honor of presenting The Spirit of Julian Award to a special Pre K student at St. Pius X, Emma, who embodies Julian’s wonderful spirit. We wanted to give back a little to the school and church community who gave so much love to our family. We can never fully repay but we can pay it forward in small ways and will cover Emma’s family commitment fee for next school year year. Part of the speech that was given 👇
Julian Liam Galloway started K3 at Saint Pius X Catholic School in 2018. He quickly made his mark in the hearts of his teachers, staff and fellow students. Julian was truly special in so many ways. In our precious time with Julian, he taught us all to enjoy every day to your fullest. He was sweet, kind, joyful, gregarious, and had a smile and laugh that could light up any room. He was everyone’s friend but had a special ability to sense and connect with other children who needed a friend or were different, other kids with cancer, or other kids who had disabilities, visible or not. This was where his very rambunctious spirit would instantly calm and we would see him care for other children more than himself.
When Monica and I are on campus, we see that the Spirit of Julian is alive and well in these halls. The joy, the laughter, purity and innocence of the pre K children warms our hearts and reminds us of Julian and the words of Matthew 18 1-5, At this time the disciples came to Jesus and said, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?' So he called a little child to him whom he set among them. Then he said, 'In truth I tell you, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. 'Anyone who welcomes one little child like this in my name welcomes me.’
