The event is a major gathering for alumni and supporters of "The U". Key elements include:

Celebrity Anglers: The highlight of the tournament is the chance for everyday participants to fish on the same boat alongside University of Miami sports stars and Hall of Fame athletes.

Festivities: Along with competitive fishing, the weekend includes a kickoff reception, a vendor village, live/silent auctions featuring rare sports memorabilia, and the Fan Fest!

Three days of Canes spirit in the Keys. 🧡💚

Recently, the UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum 2026 Fan Fest and Celebrity Fishing Tournament brought alumni, fans, families, anglers, Hall of Famers, and special guests together in Islamorada for an unforgettable weekend of connection, celebration, and friendly competition.

Randal Hill, B.G.S. ’91, served as celebrity host alongside fellow Canes legends Mike Rumph, B.L.A. ’03; honorary alumnus Jimmy Johnson; Mark Richt, B.B.A. ’82; Brett Romberg, B.B.A. ’02; J.D. Arteaga, B.A. ’03; Duane Starks, B.L.A. ’05; Javy Rodriguez, B.L.A. ’11; and Greg Mark, B.S.C. ’90.

Together with alumni, friends, and supporters, they helped make this year’s tournament an unforgettable weekend in Islamorada.
