As a reminder, CISD slashed GT secondary programming, the only way to impact this is for PARENTS to get engaged and become more knowledgeable about the needs of your kids and the requirements of the state plan for the gifted. You can’t keep a school district in the top tier by ignoring the needs of students. Please consider signing up for this group.

Join our synchronous online course on time! ⏰⌛🕰 Throughout this course, we’ll explore what time really is, how it’s measured, and why it’s such an important part of our daily lives. We'll learn to read both analog and digital clocks, understand time zones, and even explore how the Earth and Sun work together to create the time we experience every day. 🌍 🌤

Emily Villamar-Robbins is a member of the Texas Education Commission's Advisory Council on the Education of Gifted and Talented Students, was TAGT's Advocate for the Gifted of the Year in 2018, and is a founding board member of Richardson ISD's Special and Gifted Education PTA, as well as a founding member of GEFN. Emily will be discussing recent updates to the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted and Talented Students and what parents should expect from their districts.
