We had a great couple days taking veterans on fishing trips. Last Friday we took Gary out bass fishing and we had a great day on the water catching fish. Gary caught his first large mouth bass so that was awesome. Saturday we took Brian on a float down the Caney Fork. Fishing was a bit slow but honestly just floating down and seeing this beautiful world God created for us was definitely enough. All in all a couple great days making a difference.

Had a great day taking Navy/Army veteran Robert out on kayak fishing trip. Thanks to Buck lake properties for the Great Lake to take veterans fishing. God sure made a beautiful world for us so it’s a privilege for me to get to show some of it to deserving veterans.

We had a fantastic first hunt/fishing trip for 2026. We hosted Army veteran Franz for a hog hunt and fishing trip at Wilderness Hunting Lodge. After a couple miles walking in the rocky hills chasing these animals Franz was able to connect with a great animal. Lots of sausage and pork chops for his freezer. Thanks also to Middle Tennessee Electric for the donation to purchase the kayaks from Jackson Kayak. The kayaks will get many years of service getting veterans reconnected with the water and fishing and hopefully closer to God.

Wanted to give a shout out to Tennessee Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for their continued support to our organization. The funds donated this past year were instrumental in helping us get 27 disabled veterans out deer hunting here in tennessee. A few of the veterans were able to harvest their first deer ever. Thanks again

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped Cross the Divide here in Tennessee. The support from this community has been nothing short of amazing. We have been blessed with many who have supported us with land to hunt or fish on as well as financial donations that help us provide free outdoor healing adventures for out disabled veteran community. Here are some numbers to show you how we have grown here in just a few short years.

2023: 3 veteran deer hunters
2024: 12 veteran deer hunters
3 veteran turkey hunters
3 veteran hog hunters
2025: 27 veteran deer hunters
4 veteran dove hunters
5 veteran turkey hunters
4 veteran fishing trips

This next year will be even better than 2025 with more trips all around with the greatest expansion with the fishing trips. All these trips out in Gods beauty help in healing and improve veterans lives. Thanks again everyone.

This past year was filled with miles walked, quiet moments in nature, hard conversations, deep healing, and powerful connections among veterans and their families.

At Cross the Divide, we don’t rush change — we walk with it. One step, one breath, one shared experience at a time.

As we step into the new year, we carry gratitude for the community that stands beside us and hope for the journeys still ahead.

Here’s to presence over pressure.
Connection over isolation.
Healing over hurry.

Thank you for being part of the path.
🌲✨

Happy New Year from all of us at Cross the Divide.

Was blessed to be able to get my son-in-law Kurtis who is active duty Army out and he got his deer. It was actually a buck who dropped his antlers already.

We have been blessed at Cross the Divide here in Tennessee this deer season. Many veterans have been able to get out in the woods and view Gods beauty. It’s not all about harvesting a deer but about fellowship and getting closer to God. Here are a few of the veterans we have been able to get out hunting. Thanks to everyone who has supported us it has been a huge blessing.

Wishing everyone a merry and blessed Christmas.

So our goal is to get disabled veterans back out in the outdoors. For many it is a truly healing experience. For those with mobility issues we have an action track chair to assist the veterans in getting out in the woods. I want to thank Averitt Express for shipping this from Enterprise Oregon to Cookeville Tennessee at no cost to us. We have used it many times since we got it a couple years ago. Thanks again Averitt.
