AR Swish Squad Weekend Recap
Saturday at IGN Academy
The Swish Squad hit the court this weekend, and let’s just say, it was a day to remember!
Game 1: AR Swish Squad vs. Red River
The girls started slow, but once they found their rhythm five minutes in, it was all gas, no brakes. The starters set the tone, playing strong and creating opportunities for everyone off the bench to contribute.
The standout players of the game were Zar (3) and Caira (8). Caira has been putting in work all year, and she made her intentions clear—she’s here to step up. And step up she did! Whether she was grabbing rebounds in the paint or hustling on the ground for loose balls, Caira proved exactly what we’ve always known—she’s a force to be reckoned with.
Zar was unstoppable. Her speed allowed her to slice through defenders, scoring basket after basket. She didn’t just dominate the fast break; she showed her range, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. These two were on fire, and it was inspiring to watch.
Game 2: AR Swish Squad vs. iSO Joe Elite (6th Grade Girls)
This one was tough. We faced a skilled and disciplined team that handed us a humbling loss. Their defense shut us down, and their offense was like watching our own future potential in action.
I reminded the girls that we won’t win every game, and sometimes the toughest losses are the ones that teach us the most. We’ll use this experience to identify areas to improve and come back stronger. Losses are lessons, and we’re taking this one in stride.
This week, we’re back in the lab, sharpening our skills and building on our strengths. Next stop: Winter Wonderland in Memphis, TN.
Special shoutout to Zar and Caira for their incredible performances! Keep grinding, Swish Squad. The journey is just getting started!
