Hello Parents and Skaters from your Skating Director, Jeni Wilder!
We are excited to start Session 4, which includes our Spring Exhibition show rehearsal! I wanted to provide a few reminders for a successful start!
For Beginner skaters of all ages:
#1) Helmets are REQUIRED. A bicycle or ski helmet is good to use.
Helmets are highly encouraged for skaters who have passed Basic 3 or Adult 3. The ISI equivalent of these levels is Pre-Alpha through Alpha 1. Skater must have passed Alpha 1 with the ability to glide on one foot backward for 8 counts, on each foot.
#2) Gloves, gloves, gloves! If a skater is learning for the very first time, outdoor snow gloves are highly recommended vs cloth gloves, which can become wet.
#3) Warm, comfortable clothing. Clothing should be warm, but not bulky, to allow the ability to move on the ice without restriction.
#4) Arrive at least 20 minutes early, especially if you need to rent skates and try on a couple sizes for the best fit. Skates are available to rent from rink staff for $5.00. Beginners take the ice at 4:35pm.
#5) Parents may es**rt their skater to the ice, but need return to the lobby to watch the lessons. Several parents communicating to their children during the lesson, while they need to listen to their coaching instructor, can be distracting for their skater and other skaters on the ice.
Session Times – Arrive 20 minutes before your session to put on skates:
4:35pm until 5:25pm Beginners (Basic 1 through Basic 6) and Hockey (all levels)
5:25pm until 5:45pm Spring Exhibition Show Rehearsal Segment
5:45pm until 6:35pm Free Skate Levels (Pre-Free Skate through Free Skate 6) and Adults (all levels)
Each 50 minute Learn To Skate lesson includes a 25 minute group lesson with 25 minutes of practice ice. Practice ice will be located on the section of the ice that is closest to the lobby viewing area.
Thursday Practice Ice Times: Practice ice is held every Thursday from 5pm to 6pm.
Session 4 dates:
• Sunday Learn To Skate & Holiday show segment: 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29
• Thursday Practice Ice: 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2.

Light music will play in the background and no choreography is necessary! Stay and watch our skaters show off their favorite moves and then watch the show!
