Over the past several months, an extraordinary community effort has brought the Concord Lantern Parade & Brighter Together Party to life.
Organizers built a beautiful event website, designed a signature logo, promoted the celebration throughout town and online, secured more than 20 community sponsorships, pursued Cultural Council funding, and established a donation fund. Ten public lantern workshops were hosted at local libraries, the Harvey Wheeler Center, Art for All Studio, and the Concord Scout House — along with additional sessions for artists and nonprofit groups. A dedicated core team and dozens of volunteers helped make hundreds of lanterns and poetry “brightness banners” to carry in the parade.
This celebration was made possible in part through funding from the Concord 250th Committee.
