Flat seas, great visibility, and an incredible team of Coral Rescue Diver volunteers!

Today we rescued piles of broken coral—representing hundreds of years of growth—and expanded our coral nursery to give these corals a second chance.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers and to Coastal Scuba for being such an amazing partner in protecting Carolina’s reefs! 💙

We had a great day saving coral. Incredible vis and a great charter with Coastal Scuba. Our Coral Rescue Divers did a fantastic job finding coral to rescue and placing in our coral nursery

Exciting Announcement from Carolina Reef Foundation! 🇺🇸🪸
We are thrilled to announce the Patriots Reef Project — a living underwater memorial dedicated to honoring the bravery, selflessness, and sacrifice of everyday Americans: our citizens, first responders, service members, and maritime heroes.
Not all memorials stand on land. Some will live, grow, and give back to the ocean for generations to come. This project combines coral rescue, reef restoration, and community stewardship to create a lasting legacy of resilience and renewal along the Carolina coast.

The reef design features a safe, navigable dive trail (including symbolic Twin Towers elements) optimized for diver safety and education turning remembrance into active ocean restoration.
