Courtesy post for Lucky !
I made the trip to Clarkston this morning to bring Lucky out of the shelter and into the next chapter of his life.
The shelter staff reported that he showed absolutely no aggression during his stay there. They even gave him his vaccines before we left, and he handled it like a champ.
The moment he saw me, his entire body started wiggling, and he immediately covered me in kisses. It’s impossible not to fall in love with him.
The drive home was wonderful. Lucky rode in the passenger seat like the perfect gentleman. Even when I was eating, he stayed patiently in his spot until I offered him a treat, which he took gently from my hand.
When I stopped for gas and ran into the store, he calmly stayed right where he was.
Since leaving the shelter, he has already met several people, including my children and their friends, and all he wanted was affection and attention.
Despite everything he's been through and all the activity around him, he hasn't barked or whined even once.
I've been able to handle every part of his body without issue, and when given the chance, he happily climbed into my lap for hugs, snuggles, and plenty more kisses.
Tomorrow morning, I'll be driving him to Everett for his board-and-train program, but tonight we'll be camping out together in the car.
We still need help covering Lucky's expenses:
• Shelter fees: $85
• Gas today: $90
• Board-and-train program: $400
• Gas to and from Everett: approximately $180
To everyone who has donated so far, thank you. Your support is giving this sweet boy a real chance at the life he deserves.
If you're able to donate or even share this post, it would mean so much.
Lucky is an incredible dog, and I truly believe he is worth every penny. ❤️
