Offering Trauma Informed Care
Victims of all crimes, from petty theft to child sexual assault, experience trauma. The uncertainty of how the criminal justice system operates, along with the possible loss of financial or family stability, all can add on to the weight of a victim’s trauma. Our office is trained to be aware of such trauma, and strives to work with victims with care, comfort, and compassion to make an unpleasant situation a little less unbearable. We recognize that recovery is a personal journey, moving at different speeds, and our advocates will work with victims at the victim’s own speed, helping them navigate the legal system, reestablishing themselves, and transitioning from “victim” to “survivor!”
