LEGACY ALERT ‼️

Dear Jack and Jill Mothers,

As someone who grew up in Jack and Jill, I know firsthand how deeply this organization shapes and nurtures children. The love, intention, excellence, and community poured into me by Jack & Jill mothers enriched my life in ways I still carry with me today.

Because of that, I wanted to personally invite you to my Atlanta book tour event celebrating my new book, The Period & Puberty Parenting Revolution. This book was written as a guide for adults raising, loving, teaching, and supporting children who have or will have a period. It combines medically accurate education with thoughtful conversation around the cultural, social, and political realities that shape reproductive health β€” particularly through the lens of a Black mother and physician.

I truly believe many of you will find the book affirming, insightful, and practical as you continue guiding the young people in your lives through adolescence with confidence and compassion.

So join me at Village Books (Black woman-owned bookstore) on May 28th, In conversation with the incredible Mattie James. Light bites will be served and tickets include a signed hardcover copy of the book.

It would genuinely mean so much to have you in the room.

Warmly,
Charis Chambers, MD

Dreams, legacy, and sisterhood all came full circle! πŸ’—πŸ’š

Congratulations to our COLGA Legacy, Jordan Brown, on her initiation into the Gamma Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.! Watching her follow in her mother’s footsteps made this moment even more special and truly a dream come true for IPNP Kornisha McGill Brown.

Jordan was surrounded by the love and support of her incredible Jack and Jill village, including National President Darlene McGhee Whittington, IPNVP Sativa Leach-Bowen, and the devoted mothers and Associates of the Columbus, Georgia Chapter.

What a beautiful reminder that legacy, leadership, sisterhood, and service continue through generations.

Legacy complete! πŸ’—πŸ’š

Thank you for the feature, WTVM!
This past Monday, our Foundation and Community Service Committees came together for a powerful day of outreach and impact. πŸ’™πŸ’—
is a national Jack and Jill initiative designed to increase water safety awareness and swimming skills for children and teens. Twenty children and their families from our community participated in CPR exposure training with our national partner, the American Red Cross, along with water safety lessons at the D.A. Turner YMCA.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Columbus Safe Kids for generously donating several water safety flotation devices to support this important effort. We also thank our safety instructor from Chattahoochee Whitewater Express.

Participants were also gifted free summer swimming lessons from the YMCA.

Together, we are building safer, stronger communitiesβ€”one family at a time. 🌊
