As we bring our 88th National Founders Day celebration to a close, we reflect on a wonderful chapter-wide celebration that honored our rich heritage. Our COLGA Chapters gathered to celebrate the legacy of Jack and Jill of America, with the children and teens taking center stage. Led by our Mistress of Ceremonies Lea Griffin, the event featured a captivating choral performance by our Senior Teens under the guidance of Regional Teen Advisor Gwen Edmond and Regional Treasurer Shannon Chambers. Regional Teen Vice President Zion Daise delivered an inspiring keynote address, complemented by impactful remarks from 27th National President Kornisha McGill Brown and Georgia District 140 State Representative Father Teddy Reese. We honored our Associate Mothers with warm reflections and commentary, presenting them with a commemorative plaque for the cherry blossom tree planted in the Columbus Botanical Garden, which will be formally dedicated this spring upon its bloom, forever commemorating the legacy they’ve built.

Kudos to the Founders Day Committee!
Long live Jack and Jill 💙🩷

This activity aimed to enhance cultural awareness, communication skills, and inclusivity. Our middle schoolers took part in an introductory American Sign Language class, hosted by Ms. Bethea an educator from St. Ann Pacelli School. The discussion encompassed the ways in which cultural perspectives influence communication in ASL, some historical context, and the importance of inclusivity. Kudos to Mom Jasmine for delivering a fun and engaging program that kept our ‘We Are One’ focus at the forefront, especially over the MLK weekend.
