The Heartland Bank Community Foundation is proud to award a $2,500 grant to Star House, an organization dedicated to supporting youth ages 14–24 who are experiencing homelessness in Central Ohio.

Founded in 2006, Star House operates Central Ohio’s only drop in center for youth experiencing homelessness, providing access to basic needs and critical services including housing, health care, education, employment support, and more.

This medical exam room is an important part of our drop-in center.

Here, youth can connect with partners like Nationwide Children's Hospital, CelebrateOne and Columbus Public Health without leaving the center. Offering health care services on-site helps remove barriers and makes care more accessible.

Last week, members of our team had the opportunity to attend the WELD National Leadership Conference at Otterbein University. Thank you to Women for Economic and Leadership Development - Columbus and the event sponsors for making it possible for our team to attend as scholarship attendees. We left feeling energized and inspired!

Look at this team go! On Wednesday, volunteers from DHL spent the day at Carol Stewart Village (CSV), working to assemble raised beds for the community garden and complete other outdoor projects.

Thank you to DHL and the Franklin County Master Gardener volunteers for their hard work and to The Columbus Foundation for supporting the CSV community garden!
