Support A Child (SAC) was started by World Hindu Council of America (VHPA) in 1985. Through this program, we have been supporting thousands of boys and girls all over Bharat. These children are selected from remote areas of Bharat; many are orphans and many come from underprivileged backgrounds. Through SAC, these children have received the quality education they deserve and have subsequently atte
nded colleges, technical schools, and have even earned advanced degrees, such as Ph. Today, many of these children are working as teachers, engineers, doctors, and as professionals in many other fields. With the help of reputed service organizations like Sewa Bharati, Sewa Dham, Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Kalyan Prathishthan, and many more, the SAC team has selected more than 28 hostels/schools and institutions from 18 different states. With each donation of $250 from sponsor families like yours, these children stay in the hostels and get education at board certified schools. Along with the quality education, children receive medical aid, healthy/ nutritious food, school supplies, clothing, and housing. These children get an opportunity to learn, music, art, sports, and samsakara (values). With your donation, every year you will receive a progress report of the child you've sponsored, along with the child’s photograph, details of parents, class, name, percentage of marks secured, and performance.
