Gibbs Go We are Caleb and Charity Gibbs, ABWE missionaries to Jamaica and the Caribbean. For too long the Caribbean has been known as a place not a people.

We are Caleb and Charity Gibbs, missionaries to Jamaica and the Caribbean with ABWE, the Association for Baptists for World Evangelism. ABWE is an independent missions agency with nearly 1,000 missionaries in 60+ countries. ABWE missionaries carry out several ministries specializing in discipleship and evangelism that plants and multiplies churches who will pick up the torch of missions themselves and launch their own global missions movements. Our purpose will be to help the church in Jamaica and the Caribbean to catch a vision to send their own into the world. By valuing these beautiful people of the Caribbean we will enliven their faith to become Christ to the world.

As school will start here tomorrow we thought we would put up a picture from the day after Hurricane Melissa and a few pictures from today as we left after working to prepare for tomorrow. There is a long way to go and many more things to fix but God has blessed the path so far. Pray for the children of Jamaica as they all return to school tomorrow.

Please pray for today and the next week. It is a very full week of ministry. From Caleb speaking today a few times and tomorrow to Charity helping lead a leadership retreat on Sunday and Monday. Into this next week with school prep and the ordination for our pastor here. Pray for God's glory and our strength to trust Him.

Good afternoon. Bay Life Baptist has finally raised almost enough to purchase the materials to replace the church roof damaged in the hurricane. Rather than continue to raise for a local installer, we are seeking to bring in teams to help install the roof. However, due to challenges in obtaining materials, we do not yet have specific dates. This email then is just to begin to gauge interest. Let us share the following details.
We are going to need between 3 and 4 straight weeks of workers with about 6-10 workers per week. The people who come (men or women) need to be able to work at height and have either good experience or working knowledge of metal roof installation (specifically standing seam if possible). We can take 1 from a church or several. The earliest start time would be about Augst 22 running through the end of September.
The cost of the trip would be for lodging, food, and transportation about $200 per day (plus the cost of your ticket). Any funds you can supply in addition to get the rest of the materials is appreciated.
What I need now is for anyone who receives this email to forward to anyone who may be interested or know people who would be interested. Anyone interested should email me at [email protected]. WhatsApp me at 876-484-9658. Signal me at 614-812-8204. Or text me at 614-233-1303. I can share more details with anyone then and work.
We are praying that God will supply all that is needed and that the new roof can be completed before the one year anniversary of the hurricane.

Good afternoon. Just wanted to give you a picture of rebuilding. one picture is Rock Cliff Baptist Church in Jamaica after the hurricane and the second is today after they were able to rebuild with plywood. Many churches are trying to balance rebuilding to last and rebuilding with what they have. Please continue to pray for the churches and families of Jamaica as they move forward especially as the new hurricane season has begun.
