Words truly cannot express the gratitude our family has for the Marysville Monarchs Girls Soccer team for being part of our night of remembrance on the two-year anniversary of Emma’s passing.

Coach Hernan was Emma’s coach for two of the years she played at Scioto, making tonight even more meaningful. The team presented us with beautiful flowers and a heartfelt card, and every player wore a blue ribbon in her hair, just as the Scioto players did, in honor of Emma. 💙

Those gestures may seem simple, but to our family, they meant so much. They reminded us that Emma’s life, her impact, and the love people have for her continue to reach far beyond those who knew her best.

And to everyone who played a role in remembering Emma today—whether it was through a gesture, a prayer, an act of kindness, a “thinking of you” message, a phone call, a hug, or simply a smile—you were a part of reminding us just how much Emma is missed and loved.

We will never be able to fully express what that means to us.

If you come to the Dublin Scioto Girls Soccer game, you’ll see Emma’s legacy represented on the field. 💙⚽️

As part of honoring Emma, the EKG #8 Memorial Foundation is proud to have sponsored the Dublin Scioto Girls Soccer program this season—a program that meant so much to Emma.

And if you look closely, you’ll see something very special.

This logo will be displayed throughout the season, featuring a soccer cleat and ball with her initials.

The cleat is an original sketch drawn by Emma, discovered in one of her many sketchbooks. It feels incredibly fitting that something Emma created herself will now be part of the program and on the field where she once played.

Emma loved soccer. She loved being creative. And she loved being part of the Dublin Scioto Girls Soccer family.

On the two-year anniversary of her passing, her artwork will be there with her teammates, her cousin Kelsey, her aunt Annie, and everyone who comes to support the team.

A little piece of Emma will always be on that field. 🤍

August 20th, 2026 marks two years since we lost Emma.

Two years. It still feels impossible to say.

The day will be filled with memories, tears, smiles and all the little reminders of our angel who should still be here.

So, we're asking you to choose your way to Remember Emma.

You don't have to know Emma personally. You don't have to know exactly what to say. We simply ask that, in some small way, you help us keep her name, her spirit, and her memory alive.

Wear #8 or Carolina Blue.
Do Something kind for someone in Emma's memory.
Share a favorite photo or memory of Emma.
Light a candle and take a quiet moment to remember her.
Tell someone about Emma who may not have known her.
Or simply say her name because remembering her matters.

Emma was so much to many of us. She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, friend, teammate, student and a person who brought so much love and laughter in the lives around her.

Two year later, we continue to miss her with every ounce of our being but we also choose to celebrate her.

We choose to talk about her.
We choose to tell her story
We choose to carry her with us.
And we choose to make sure the world doesn't forget her.

So, choose your own way to remember Emma. And if you do something, big or small, share it with us. We'd love to see how our forever angel is being remembered.

💙 TWO YEARS OF HONORING EMMA. TWO YEARS OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE. 💙

As we reflect on the first two years of the EKG #8 Memorial Foundation, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has helped us turn Emma’s memory into a way to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

In our first year, 2025–2026, the Foundation:

⚽ Provided $22,129 in financial assistance to 11 families
🎓 Awarded two $1,500 scholarships — one male and one female Ohio Premier senior
🎓 Awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Dublin Scioto senior
⚽ Sponsored the Ohio Premier Juniors soccer program
⚽ Sponsored the Dublin Scioto Girls Soccer program

And now, in our second year, 2026–2027, we have already:

💙 Provided $15,400 in financial assistance to 7 families
⚽ Sponsored the Dublin Scioto Girls Soccer program
🎓 Committed to awarding another $1,500 scholarship to one male and one female Ohio Premier senior
🎓 Committed to awarding another scholarship to a graduating Dublin Scioto senior

And we’re not done.

As we move forward, we will continue looking for new ways to make a positive impact in the lives of others in Emma’s name. Every family helped, every student supported, every program sponsored, and every person who joins us in this mission helps keep Emma’s spirit and legacy alive.

Today, we’re remembering Emma through a very special piece of her story.

A memorial brick has been laid at Olde Sawmill Elementary School in honor of Emma. It’s incredibly meaningful to see her name become a permanent part of the school where so many of her earliest memories began.

From the little girl who walked through those doors for Kindergarten… to the fifth grader who proudly graduated… Emma grew, learned, laughed, made friends, and left a piece of herself with the people who knew and loved her.

Now, her name will remain there for generations of students to see.

A simple brick, but such a powerful reminder that Emma was here. Emma mattered. Emma is loved. And Emma will never be forgotten. 💙🦋

Today we come together to celebrate the life, legacy, and beautiful spirit of Emma at the 2nd Annual EKG #8 Memorial 4v4 Tournament.
