Oh honey, do we have something sweet planned for you! Join us Honey Harvest, where you will learn about beekeeping and learn about the process of extracting and bottling honey.

Honey sales begin at 12pm and are available as extracted.

Admission to the Honey extraction demonstration is included with your admission ticket. At checkout you will select an extraction show time to attend! Please print or have an electronic copy of your Honey Harvest ticket for entry to the event.

WE NEED MORE HONEY JUDGES! The GBA, the UGA Bee Lab, and the American Honey Show Training Council will be holding a Honey Judge Training & Certification event at the GBA Fall Conference in Gainesville, GA. The classes will be on September 21-23 at the Ramsey Conference Center at Lanier Technical College. Honey Judging is a fascinating, detail-oriented pursuit. If you like to learn, if you like to teach, if you like to see the coolest stuff before anyone else does, honey judging might be right for you!

The first Jr. Beekeeping workshop went very well this morning. The kids and parents had an overview of the History of beekeeping, bee biology and what to find in a Hive. Afterwards, we went to the amphitheater to learn parts of a beehive and a frame assembly...Kids always love the part where they get to use a hammer and nails! We then suited up in our protective gear for the beehive tour. Lastly the kids were able to come back to the classroom to make their own rolled candle and decorate their frame.
We do have one more class this year scheduled for May 20th.

We had a great turnout today for the Beginner Beekeeping Course at Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center . We look forward to spending the next few weeks educating and mentoring the Beekeeping Class Of 2023!

The 2022 Fall Conference of the Georgia Beekeepers Association happened this weekend in Gainsvi, GA. These below are the members that were able to attend. We had a great time and look forward to our Spring meeting!

We want to thank everyone that stopped by our table at the rodeo to say "Hi" and ask questions over the past 2 days. We met some great people. We had a blast speaking to the kids and showing off our honey bees. The kids (adults too) were able to look for the marked Queen Bee in our Observatoon Hive. We passed out honey straws to the kids and the smile on their faces were priceless!
