A Place At The Table (APATT) is a faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in Nebraska, whose purpose is to provide nourishment to students dealing with food insecurities. We seek to be the Lord's hands and feet in a world that needs each of us to care for one another. To carry out this mission, APATT created the WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM, using community volunteers to do the following:
--Coord
inate, during the school year, with Columbus Public Schools, Cross County Community Schools, Osceola Public Schools, and High Plains Community Schools, to obtain the numbers of students who need the family food bags. (these students remain anonymous)
--Pack food bags during the week with nutritious foods that are easy to prepare.
--Take the food bags to the schools to be distributed to the students who qualify for them. Our mission is to combat food insecurity in school-aged children so that every student can focus on learning without distraction from hunger.
