WHAT DOES A UNION DO FOR YOU? IAM District 54 provides you with a legal voice in the workplace, negotiates and enforces your union contract, settles grievances, organizes, forms safety committees, holds meetings, furnishes legal protections and acts in your interest with management.

WHO DO WE REPRESENT? We service 14,000+ active and retired members throughout OH, WV, Northeastern IN, and MI. From Gradall Industries to Lockheed Martin to General Electric and Alcoa, you will find IAM District 54 members across all walks of life. IAM members demand respect and dignity in the workplace.

WHAT ARE OUR VALUES? We value “Justice on the Job” for our members by negotiating higher wages, better benefits and safer working conditions. Some benefits are; hazard pay, retirement security, a harassment-free workplace, healthcare (plus dental and vision) coverage, and paid personal time off.

We also value “Service to the Community.” Our local lodges provide our members with opportunities for community involvement such as annual Toys 4 Tots and Salvation Army’s Bikes for Kids drives, and Guide Dogs of America fundraisers.

Lastly, our District pays special attention to transparency and communications. We are an active servicing District, with Business Representatives conducting shop visits and utilizing modern communication tools to keep in touch with leadership and members.

Our District has also won numerous Wimpy Awards from the IAM Communications Department. Through our tri-annual E-Newsletters, social media, website, and email and texting services we make sure our members know what’s going on.

HIGHLIGHTS OF IAM DISTRICT 54:

>Under the leadership of PDBR Wright, we have been successful in reaching every first contract after organizing a new unit (place of employment). >Our District is financial sound and stable. >We have a diverse and experienced staff ready to represent our members in the best possible way. >There are numerous training classes provided (steward, negotiating, safety, etc.) for members and union leaders. >We are an affiliated District within an International union with all the resources needed at-hand to best represent our members, such as an Employee Assistance Program, Women’s and Retirees Department, Strategic Resources, Legal Department and more.
