How Bands Help Your Throwing Arm

1. Strengthen the Rotator Cuff
• The rotator cuff muscles stabilize the shoulder joint, which is critical for throwing.
• Bands allow safe, controlled exercises (like internal/external rotations) that directly target these small but vital muscles.

2. Improve Scapular Stability and Control
• The shoulder blade (scapula) plays a big role in healthy throwing mechanics.
• Band exercises help strengthen the muscles around the scapula (e.g., serratus anterior, rhomboids, lower traps), improving shoulder function and reducing strain.

3. Enhance Blood Flow and Mobility
• Bands can be used for dynamic warm-ups and mobility drills, increasing blood flow and reducing stiffness without heavy loading.
• Great for pre-throw routines or early stages of rehab.

Annnnnnd just like that baseball is back!! Columbus Blue 11u traveled to Council Bluffs IA today to open the season against the Major program River City Owls.
Weather was cold and rainy, but we got the games in. We split the games 1-1.
Awesome to see the boys back in action and getting them outside to see the improvements they’ve all worked so hard on over the winter.
Great job boys, beginning of a very fun year.
