🗓️ LAST DAY!! By this time tomorrow I will be crossing the finish line for my FIRST HALF MARATHON!!!

🏃🏻‍♀️ It’s RACE WEEKEND!! Tomorrow is the big day for the half marathon & full marathon, but TODAY is the big day for the 5k, 1 mile run, and the KIDS RUN! Ollie & his siblings will be participating in the kids run today so let’s wish them luck!!

🗓️ TWO DAYS UNTIL RACE DAY!!

🎉 Today we’ll head down to the Convention Center (400 N. High Street) for the pre-race expo which will be held today from Noon - 7 pm and tomorrow from 9 am - 6 pm. If you’re participating in the half marathon or full marathon you HAVE to pick up your race day gear (bib, shirts, gear check bag) at the pre-race expo and remember you HAVE to show your ID! Be sure to check the Columbus marathon website for FAQs about the expo and make sure you get all your things! IT’S ALMOST RACE DAY!!!

🗓️ THREE DAYS UNTIL RACE DAY!!

🏃🏻‍♀️ Three miles today and they went by FAST (and very cold 🥶) Only one more run left - a quick 2 mile shake out run Saturday morning! And the expo starts tomorrow! I can’t wait to get all my stuff!!!

🍞 Time to start our carb loading to make sure our bodies have plenty of energy for race day. I’m aiming for 400 grams of carbs and 100 oz of water every day leading up to race day. It may seem a bit excessive but I know it’s what works best to prep my body for race day!

🏃🏻‍♀️ Three easy miles today and the weather is a LOT cooler. It’s such a vast difference from the beginning of this training block and I don’t know which one is worse… early morning humidity but you get sunlight or nice, cool temps in absolute darkness 🙃 whatevs, the only thing that matters is we got our three miles in today 💪🏻🏃🏻‍♀️

🤘🏻 This is week two of our taper and the miles are really reduced this week to get our legs ready for race day. Are you starting to get nervous?! I’m a bit nervous but also SO EXCITED!!! Just three more training runs (8 total miles) left until our first half marathon!

🗓️ SEVEN DAYS UNTIL RACE DAY!!

🎉 It’s the last long run before race day, although it will be shorter since we’re well into our two week taper. We’ve been experimenting with some serious carb loading and breezed through our last long run this morning - 8 miles in the books at a solid pace and that carb loading helped us feel solid before, during, and after our run 🙌🏻

✨ Today is the last day for Gold Mile Match Weekend. Gold Mile sponsors of the 2024 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & Half Marathon are matching all donations (up to $500 per transaction). If you donate $20 to Ollie’s Team then the Gold Mile Sponsors will also donate $20 to Ollie’s Team.
