To the expecting Black moms carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders…
That “I can handle it all by myself” cape starts to feel a lot heavier when you’re growing a baby.
Nobody really talks about the hyper-independence so many Black women develop.
Maybe help wasn’t available when you needed it.
Maybe you were disappointed.
Maybe you felt judged.
Maybe asking for support left you feeling unseen, unheard, or let down.
So you adapted.
You became the one who figures it out.
The one who pushes through.
The one who carries it all.
But pregnancy has a way of showing us that we were never meant to carry everything alone.
Sis, your baby is growing.
Your body is changing.
Your responsibilities are expanding.
You deserve support too.
And sometimes the problem isn’t that you’re asking for help.
Sometimes you’re asking the wrong people.
Your village may not look like what you expected.
It may be a doula.
A therapist.
A friend.
A mentor.
A community of mothers.
A sister you’ve yet to meet.
But your village is out there.
And building it might be one of the most important things you do during your pregnancy journey.
🤎 That’s exactly why I created my FREE guide:
The Village Matters: Building Your Circle of Support During Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond
Comment “VILLAGE” and I’ll send it to you.
