Hi! I know it's been a minute since I've posted anything about
The CMN Memorial Garden at The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith (sorry!) And I also know this is the last minute (again, sorry!) But if you have time this Saturday, July 25th, please meet me at the garden, from 10:00-noon, for some much-needed clean-up and maintenance.

Vacation Bible School starts Monday; Tanika Nicole Nabrit, my beautiful daughter-in-love, is in charge (as usual!), and Damon Princeton Penn Nabrit (as usual) will be helping. I'd like the garden space clear and organized, i.e., safe, should they decide to use any of that space for VBS. (Yes, Telos Training, Inc., the 501(c)(3) that funds the garden, maintains liability insurance, lest the church be exposed, but we've never had to file a claim, and I don't want to start now!)

Also, the annual GCGC picnic is once again scheduled at our space, this year on Saturday, August 1st, so we want to think about how we present. As my late father used to say, "If it's not excellent, it's not about Jesus!

Bottom line, please drop a note in the Comments to let me know if you can join us so I can be sure and have enough snacks! Full disclosure, given the amount of work to do, we probably won't have time on Saturday to fire up the pizza oven. BUT, I promise there will be food. And I also promise to have a pizza party later, for all those who help on Saturday. (Yes, Petty Paula will be making a list and checking it twice before passing out free pizza.)Thanks!

"Special thanks to Dr. Nathan Lee Roy Harris & See Brilliance for hosting Paula for a wonderful talk on the power of collective nourishment! 🍽️🤝

We had a fantastic time discussing how food—when grown, cooked, and shared together—acts as a bridge between our families and our communities. It was wonderful to see so many generations represented in such a robust and spirited dialogue!

How do you share food traditions in your family? Tell us in the comments! 👇"

I am so excited about this! Thanks to Dr. Nathan Lee Roy Harris
for the invitation to speak with parents about the holistic power of food cultivated, cooked, and consumed collectively, first within our families and then, expansively, within our communities.

Revolution, liberation, freedom, and holiness cannot survive, be sustained, or lived out loud on a diet dominated by fast food. And on the spiritual tip, (I'm 4th generation congregant at The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith...you know there's always a Bible verse🤣) please see 1 Corinthians 6:20 "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,..." This does not just refer to s*x. Our bodies, our children's bodies, are temples. You don't fill a temple with junk food.

Join us for Food, Health & Our Future on March 7, 2026, a powerful STEAM Coalition forum examining the impact of processed foods and the rising rates of Type 2 diabetes in our communities. Parents…

YAY!!! "Giving Tuesday" continues until December 9th, and this year, I'm inviting you to "🌻 Invest in Imagination: The Charles Madison Nabrit Memorial Garden Adopt-a-Day Campaign." Here's the https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AEJ74zTAy/

This week, we invite you to make a direct, tangible investment in the youth and community served by The CMN Memorial Garden.
Our garden is more than a green space; it's a living tribute to its namesake's legacy of education and community service. It is the cherished home of our STEM-to-STEAM: It's All in the Garden summer camp, which provides hands-on, high-quality science, art, and engineering education free of charge to local children. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Here's the donation link:

Look at all this lovely Ginger! I love Ginger...it's delicious and healthy!

Max and Sarah helped clean the excess soil from the absolutely beautiful and incredibly fragrant Ginger Damon Princeton Penn Nabrit harvested this morning. I was super excited because this was our 1st year growing Ginger or Tumeric!

Jordan, one of our teen campers from CCAF, came by to help and he collected all the stems and leaves from the harvest and added them to the for the compost. YAY! He even broke everything down into smaller pieces just the way Charles M. P. Nabrit, "Composting is a Science" requires. And yes, I know, "there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything."
