Is a future Housing arrangement for your child with CP on your mind? On the back burner? The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities has a Housing workgroup that has been looking at challenges that families face in this area, and has drafted some recommendations for statewide policy. They are hosting an in-person listening session on Mar. 25 at 2pm to hear from people served and their families and get feedback about these recommendations. There is also a virtual listening session on Mar. 27 at 11am. https://dodd.ohio.gov/communication/events/housing-workgroup-session-march27

Does your adult child with CP struggle to access adequate dental care? There is a new collaborative advocacy group in Ohio working on this issue. Started by parents who are frustrated by the barriers - long waiting lists, not enough providers who accept patients with disabilities or Medicaid, the group is working together to identify solutions. They were recently awarded a short-term grant from the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council. The grant will pay for them to conduct research on the topic, and to convene a summit later this year to bring stakeholders together. Two people from the group will be presenting on the topic at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) conference in Washington DC March 7-10. They are looking for two family members to join them. This is an all-expense paid trip to the conference! Having attended this conference in the past, I can attest it will be a valuable experience. If anyone is interested in going, please contact [email protected] to get more information. Do it today - attendees need to be registered by Feb. 23rd!

📸 Our Annual Photo Contest is BACK for 2026! 📸

We’re excited to launch the 2026 Cerebral Palsy Awareness Photo Contest, inviting individuals across the CP community to share their lived experiences through powerful photos and personal stories. This year, the contest is paired with a community fundraiser, creating even more opportunities to raise awareness and support meaningful research.

By submitting a photo and sharing your story, you help amplify voices across the community. During the contest, you can invite friends, family, and supporters to vote for your photo and, if they choose, donate to the Cerebral Palsy Research Network. You may also participate in the fundraiser on its own, whatever feels right for you. Every story shared and every dollar raised help support research and improve the health and well-being of people with cerebral palsy. 💚

🏆 $1,500 in prizes
✨ Winning photos featured in CPRN communications and resources

📅 Submissions open now through March 10, 2026
👉 Submit your photos: https://cprn.org/photo-contest/

March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, and this is your chance to make a difference. Whether you enter the photo contest, take part in the fundraiser, or do both, sharing your story helps move research forward, educates people about living life with CP, and strengthens our community.
