Cheers to 20 Years!

Thanks to everyone who made our anniversary celebration such a memorable event. Our group has raised over $3 million for scholarships and research over the years, and this year, we expect to fully fund both 2026 grant projects—providing an additional $100,000 in research support!

We also announced some BIG NEWS. Debra Davis, a longtime and beloved member of Women & Philanthropy, has committed a $150,000 matching gift to our endowed scholarship fund to keep the momentum going. Every donation will be matched, doubling the impact. Once fully matched, this will permanently fund four $7,000 scholarships annually.

🫁 BREATHE EASY: A New Era of Gene Therapy for Rare Lung Disease

Dr. Tatiana Cuellar‑Gaviria and her team are driven by a vision of a future where women diagnosed with rare lung diseases are no longer told there are no curative options.

Funding from Women & Philanthropy will support the development of a new generation of safer, non‑viral gene and drug delivery treatments, using engineered extracellular vesicles. This work prioritizes both effectiveness and long‑term safety—while also mentoring and empowering women scientists as leaders in discovery.
