Laps for Learning Eldon Ward Swim-a-thon

Laps for Learning Eldon Ward Swim-a-thon Charity event hosted by E.E. Ward Moving and Storage and Eldon and Elsie Ward YMCA. All funds will go toward water safety courses for Columbus, Ohio youth.

The Laps for Learning Eldon Ward Swim-a-thon is a community outreach program designed by E.E. Ward Moving and Storage. The purpose of this event is to raise funds to donate to the Eldon and Elsie Ward YMCA for the purpose of scholarship for the youth to attend Safety Around Water classes held specially for this event. Every year, E.E. Ward has a charity event to aid in an aspect of youth safety. L

ast year, we hosted Laps for Lunches which raised thousands of dollars to combat child hunger in the Greater Columbus area. This year, we have altered our approach to maximize donations. Beginning on August 1st and running through August 12th, Columbus youth will gather donations contingent on the amount of laps they are willing to swim for donations. Along with corporate sponsors, we are aiming to raise enough money to get as many children into this water safety course. On average, 34 Ohio children between the ages of 1 and 19 will drown each year. This is a statistic that is not acceptable to us. Former CEO Eldon Ward was an avid swimmer as well as a hero in the community. Because of Eldon's love for the pool, we believe that he would want the youth to know how to avoid becoming another statistic. If you would like to donate to this cause, call our offices at: (614) 298-8414 or email [email protected] to learn how!
