Part 2: Orphanage

We handed out blankets, pillows, school supply kits, and a stuffed Jesus to the kids in the Orphanage. We pray the seeds that were planted will grow and lives will be changed forever in the name of Jesus! 🙏

We held two activities yesterday a couple hours away from Bogotá. The first was blessing the kids at a sister church of La Buena Semilla church. The second activity was at a small orphanage near the church, where showered them with gifts and love!

It's not too late to make a difference in a child's Christmas. We'll be leaving in a couple weeks. Please consider donating. 🙏

We have some exciting news to share! Next month, we'll be sending a small team to share God's love and joy to the people (and especially the children) of Bogotá as they enter the Christmas season.

This is not a plea for help, but instead an opportunity for you to be blessed and play an active part in what God will do through SonLight Missions this Christmas season. Given the short notice, we plan to do as much as we can based on the donations received.

100% of the money collected in the next few weeks will go to these 4 activities:

1. Provide a Christmas gift, meal, and VBS to the children that attend "Outside the Four Walls" church. Their young pastor recently died unexpectedly and we're hoping to remind the children that God sees them and loves them even through difficult times.
(About 60 kids)

2. Visit a local orphanage and provide a blanket, pillow, Christmas gift, meal, and VBS to the children who live there. (About 20 kids)*

3. Visit a local church and provide a Christmas gift, meal, and VBS to the children that attend regularly.
(About 60 kids)*

*This will be our first time visiting this remote church and orphanage but hope it will lead to additional ministry opportunities in the future.

4. Provide a Christmas gift to the children who attend "The Good Seed" Christian Church, which is where we have served the past few years.
(About 30 kids)

If anyone feels compelled to sponsor a child for one of these activities, we are estimating the cost will be approximately $20 per child. As always, if anyone feels called to go, we could help make that happen, too!

Praise God! 🙌 Today we blessed the Church "Outside the Four Walls." More than 30 pairs of shoes for these children who are in great need! May God bless Pastor Rene, as he does so much for this community with very few resources. We pray that each day He strengthens them and that they can continue to be a blessing to these children and families.🙏🙏🙏

We held our final event on Saturday afternoon. With the help of many volunteers from Iglesia Cristiana La Buena Semilla, we were able to serve hotdogs and ice cream to 200 people. The kids had a blast playing games and jumping in the bounce houses we rented. We finished the evening with a short movie about Jesus leaving the 99 sheep to rescue the one that was lost. We pray that the seeds of faith that were planted will continue to grow in each person that attended. 🙏

In addition to planting seeds of faith this week, we also helped to plant about 400 small trees in one of the local communities today. Similar to the trees, we pray God's love will also grow in the community through this small act of service.
