An LGBTQIA+ crusader for equal rights. He lived a life of service and he will be missed. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

We mourn the loss of Rep. Barney Frank, a trailblazer who dedicated his career to fighting for working Americans and consumer rights.

One of the first openly gay members of Congress, his leadership was also instrumental in the fight for marriage equality.

May he rest in peace.

On 17 May 1990, the World Health Assembly stopped classifying homosexuality as a mental disorder.

At the 43rd World Health Assembly, it was officially declared that "homosexuality is not a disease, a disturbance, or a perversion".

This announcement was made almost 20 years after the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in 1973.
