Available in Waycross GA through the Afghan Hound Club of America Rescue
Shiloh is a six-year-old neutered male. He is either a domino or a blue brindle. He is currently living in a foster home in Waycross, Georgia. Before surrendering him, his previous owner took him to the vet; so, he is current on his vaccinations and can travel across state lines to his forever home. It is unlikely that Shiloh traveled much since he had difficulty climbing into or out of a car. However, he did ride well in the car.
When arriving at the foster home, Shiloh was reserved but bonded quickly with one of his foster parents. He comes to meet visitors and will allow them to pet him unless they move too quickly or speak loudly. With humans, he has a sweet gentle disposition and enjoys getting pets and treats. He has tolerated brushing and ear cleaning. He can also be a little rambunctious when greeting his person.
Shiloh has a strong prey drive. As evidenced by his reaction to the cats in his foster home, he cannot be placed in a home with cats. Any contact with a cat would probably end with serious injury to either cat or dog.
Shiloh was curious about the other Afghan hounds in his foster home and did not show any aggression nor timidness when introduced. He shares space with another neutered male and 2 female Afghan hounds. They enjoy running together in the backyard, sharing yak bones and treats. He can be a picky eater and seems to prefer grazing rather than eating all his food at once. He has not shown any food aggression when another dog comes close while he is eating. Shiloh is crate trained and housebroken.
