“Use your talents and serve others…” - 1 Peter 4:10
The CEO of HOPE JOURNEY PA
GEANTS INTERNATIONAL, Ingrid Burger, launched the first Christian based pageant system for women and children who are passionate about making a significant difference in her community, touching the lives of others and being a positive role model. This is the only registered pageant system that allocates 70% of the finalists scores towards interview judging with a focus on their character, values and community projects during their period of being a finalist. HOPE JOURNEY PAGEANTS INTERNATIONAL is one of the greatest opportunities for women and children around the world to focus on using their talents to make an impact in their communities and helps them to start living their own purpose driven lives. The Pageant is NOT about glitz or glamour or the size of your clothing…it is about your character, values and your HEART to make a difference! HOPE JOURNEY PAGEANTS' goal is to help teens and women find their own callings AND motivate them to become part of the solution of critical issues around the world! This idea started after Ingrid Burger founded her project, Acting Hope, at the beginning of 2012. Acting Hope is a registered charity, NPO 131-510, mainly using Drama as a therapy in healing broken children and giving hope and confidence to children of communities in South Africa. Acting Hope has been extremely successful in its growth, consisting of child volunteers using their own talents as well to implement various sustainable projects throughout the communities of South Africa. Acting Hope also won the award for a community based project in 2012, was selected as Charity of the month for September 2013 and for an episode with KOLLIG on Kyknet (SA TV channel) in February 2014. Ingrid started Miss Hope in the Western Cape in 2013. Last year the Hope finalists did over 50 outreach projects in the Western Cape alone. Ingrid entered the Mrs. United Nation SA pageant. Ingrid won the title in 2013 and will represent South Africa in Jamaica, September 2014. She has been involved as a national director for another international pageant system and as a judge for various pageants throughout South Africa. Ingrid had a vision to create a NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL pageant system that will help women and children find their own callings AND to motivate them to become part of the solution of critical issues in South Africa and around the world. Categories for Hope Journey Pageants are Miss Pre-Teen Hope (9-13), Miss Teen Hope (14-17), Miss Hope (18-27 single ladies), Ms. Hope (28-40 and single, married, divorced or widowed) and Ms. Elite Hope (35 + and single, married, divorced or widowed); those ages 35-40 may choose whether to be in the Ms. Elite Category. In The USA, women and children are selected as finalists for their states, after which they start doing community and charity-based projects that would be judged at the final national event. Regional (National) finalists will use Acting Hope and Girl Enhanced as their platforms. This serves as a basis to form an idea where they feel called to serve and to help them find their purpose. Their USA Director will guide them through all their ideas and projects. After chosen as a finalist, the contestants are expected to raise a set amount of funds to show their operational skills. All state finalists will go through to compete internationally in Cape Town, South Africa during December of each year. Contestants under the age of 21 need to be chaperoned by either their parent/guardian, or the director of their pageant.
