Are you a Whetstone HS student? Do you like giving back to the community in a fun way with other kids? Then join the Whetstone Key Club! We meet in the library right after school the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month starting Sept. 3. We volunteer within our school, in Clintonville and more. We work with kids and old peeps and sometimes even socialize with cats! For a great time serving your community while having a fun time with other Key Club members then come to the Sept. 3 meeting to see what we are all about. Northern Columbus Kiwanis thanks everyone who purchased raffle tickets for the OSU football games. Although Northern Kiwanis did not sell the winning ticket we congratulate Paul C. from Lewis Center who won 2 season tickets to the OSU home games. The proceeds from our fundraisers support many service projects for kids: Easter egg hunt, Whetstone HS Key Club, NCIL baseball, scholarships, local food pantries and much more. Thank you so much for supporting our mission.

Northern Columbus Kiwanis enjoyed one of the highlights of the year recently when the club honored two high school seniors with college scholarships. Receiving their certificates and $1500 award money were Elena Earley from Whetstone HS and Zoe Keller from Worthington Kilbourne. The keynote speaker, Stephanie Harless, member of the Worthington School board, offered words of encouragement to these deserving students. Congratulations to Elena and Zoe and their families! We wish them all the best as they begin their college adventure.

Last night Northern Kiwanis Club presented the Community Support Award to five individuals who tirelessly serve our neighbors. Linda Schellkopf, Gregg Webb, George Bleimes, and Sandy and Tom Trinter are generous with their time and efforts. Club president Maddy DeWitt praised and thanked them for their compassion and for all they do to positively impact so many others.
