☘️ In 1980, a group of Daughters of Erin ladies crafted a beautiful Irish quilt which was then entered into a fundraising raffle (of course - lol).
All the members sold tickets, and I did my part. One ticket I sold was to my dear friend, Mary Kaye Moran. Lo and behold, her name was pulled.
She came to a subsequent meeting with me and was presented with the quilt!
As I recall most of the quilters were there that day to give away their masterpiece.
Mary Kaye treasures the quilt to this day!
☘️ Interesting sidelight, at the time her name was pulled, my name as the seller was not known. She was out of town after the sudden death of her father, and when she returned, she had multiple messages from the DOE on her answering machine. Someone thought her father had entered her name (another Moran?), but she knew it was me.
So she always says that this is the quilt that her father gave her on October 28, 1980 (the day he died).
💚 So much magic the DOE has spread over the years! 💚
