CENTRO ESPERANZA LATINA (CEL), is a consultant and community development organization dedicated to providing Clinical and Prevention services, Family Programs, Educational Programs and Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program for the Latino community. VISION: Provide a Latino Center, with wrap-around services designed to meet the specific needs of the Latino Community

bilingual and caring environment that assists individuals and families to improve their quality of life and will gain better access to resources
CEL’s comprehensive family and community services provide key programs to help meet the Latino needs in Franklin County. In 2003, the CEL Latino parent-training program, sponsored by CMACAO, was highly successful and received a John Glen Institute National Award for Best Practice, also received special recognition from Senator Ray Miller and Columbus City Council. Currently CEL has developed key community partners to provide one-stop services for the Latino community. PROGRAM HISTORY
Working with The Ohio Commission on Minority Health, OSU, Huntington Bank, United Way, Ohio Developmental Disability Council, Franklin County Children Services, Franklin County Dept. Of Jobs and Family services, Columbus State Community College, ADAMH Board, Action for Children, Children Hunger Alliance, etc, over the past 6 years, Centro Esperanza Latina has developed five Family and Leadership Development programs:
• CLL (Computer Learning Lab/ Passkey/ Internet/Microsoft Office)
• Healthy Latinos Program (Fitness-Nutrition-Cooking classes)
• CCPLA (Career Connecting Program for Latino Adults /job readiness, resume design, interviews training, placement and retention),
• ESL Classes ( beginners and 2nd level)
• Money Smart, (Financial Literacy classes)
Programs in collaboration with other Organizations
• Self Defense for women,
• Free Tutoring in Math and Reading for youth K-12
• Healthy Baby-Healthy Me (pre-natal classes that include cooking)
