Three years ago, we met Sadie at in Columbus Ohio. She was there on her book tour; we were there to pass out narcan. And today, she’s appearing on the podcast!

On top of making incredible music with Speedy Ortiz - , she is a deeply dedicated organizer who has put in massive hours with United Musicians and Allied Workers, a community organization dedicated to organizing music workers and fighting for a more equitable industry. Sadie delves into how she came to work with through COVID-era organizing, but also gets into detail about how and why she came to care deeply about harm reduction as we do!

New podcast featuring Alexis - one of the most amazing human beings on the planet! 🌎

We’ve been huge fans of Alexis’ music and her advocacy for a long time, so having her on the show is a massive gift. On top of making incredible music with she is the co-founder of Kinship Climbing Collective and Rise Outside, two amazing community organizations dedicated to breaking down barriers and diversifying the outdoor and rock-climbing world.  Alexis delves into how these organizations came to be, but also gets incredibly honest about dealing with “compassion fatigue,” and why we just have to get off our phones and physically show up for each other. If you’ve ever felt the overwhelming pressure to fix everything in a fraught world, this conversation is going to make you feel so seen.

Today’s episode with is exactly why we’re doing this. She is so incredibly honest and this conversation made me feel a little less sh*tty about the world for a minute, in the exact same way that passing out a kit of Narcan does.
