We are proud to announce our 2026 Northridge Hands and Feet Movement Scholarship Winner: Mikalynn Adkins! She completed over 100 hours of community service during high school. These hours were spent doing a variety of activities. Some of the ways in which this student has served her community are helping to run activities at Alexandria Fun Days for the soccer program, helping with the youth soccer and basketball camps, serving as a teacher’s aid at the elementary and high school, volunteering at a nursing home, and running the viking innovations store at crafts shows. She loves to teach the younger generation that it is good to be different and bold. We are positive this young lady has made our community a better place through her service and we wish her the best in her next steps. She plans to study music education at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Introducing our 2026 Johnstown Hands and Feet Movement Scholarship Winner: Abigail Smith! She completed about 240 hours of community service during high school. These hours were spent doing a variety of activities. Some of the ways in which this student has served her community are spending many hours as an elementary teacher’s aide, building and painting sets for musicals, helping with band fundraisers like Tag Day and the buckeye fundraiser, helping with the choir program, participating in NHS service at the nursing home and the farmer’s market, and serving through her Global Scholars project about women in STEM. We are positive this young lady has made our community a better place through her service and we wish her the best in her next steps. She plans to study early childhood and elementary education at Ohio University.

We are excited to announce our 2026 Utica Hands and Feet Movement Scholarship: Gracie Cyphers! Gracie completed over 400 hours of community service during high school. These hours were spent doing a variety of activities. She has served as a 4-H camp counselor at Licking County 4-H Camp Ohio, where she worked alongside her peers in the months leading up to camp to plan lessons, organize activities, and prepare schedules for campers. During camp, she was responsible for supervising campers, leading group activities, helping resolve conflicts, and making sure each camper felt included and supported throughout the week. She has also served as a Hartford Fair Junior Fair Board Member, where she worked with fellow members and Senior Fair Board members to help organize and run events while ensuring the fair operates smoothly and safely. She also volunteered through Utica’s basketball and volleyball programs, and local food pantries through Martinsburg Methodist Church and Last Call Outreach Ministries. She looks forward to continuing to serve in college and beyond. We are positive this young lady has made our community a better place through her service and we wish her the best in her next steps. She plans to study Animal Science on a pre-veterinary track at The Ohio State University-Newark.

We know those of you who entered our raffle are ready to know if you won! The response hasn't been as big as we would have liked so we're going to scale it down, while still making your odds to win as high! We are going to draw 2 winners and will only sell 50 tickets. This week we will be highlighting some of the big things we do at Hands and Feet Movement.

One of the things we do is deliver boxes of sunshine to people who could use a pick-me-up. These are boxes filled with yellow items to brighten hard days. The Northridge High School National Honor Society students recently collected items and made 2 great bags of sunshine. We were able to deliver them to recipients this week who were very touched 😎

Update! We have reached our goal of 50 tickets! Thank you! We will draw the winners today!

This week we will be highlighting some of the big things we do at Hands and Feet Movement.

A year ago today I had a lifesaving surgery that would, along with other interventions, cure me of breast cancer. Our community rallied around us. I will never forget the kindness shown to us. Tactical Creations Apparel ran an amazing fundraiser, selling these"Fight like a true Viking" shirts. Last week they presented me with a gorgeous tumbler, a sweet card, and a big check from the proceeds. I was once again blown away! This money will be earmarked to support breast cancer warriors in our community, of which there are many. We are grateful!
