On June 4, 2026, Korean Society of Maryland (KSM) participated as judges in the Simulated Congressional Hearings held at Waverly Elementary School in Ellicott City, Howard County. The Simulated Congressional Hearing is a performance-based assessment in which 5th‑grade students demonstrate how well they understand the four social studies units they have studied throughout the year. Students take on the role of constitutional experts and present their statements before a panel of judges. After their presentations, they respond to questions from the judges. Students are evaluated across multiple criteria. We were deeply impressed by the outstanding abilities of the students at Waverly Elementary School.

2026년 6월 4일 메릴랜드 한인회는 하워드 카운티 엘리컷 시티에 위치한 Waverly Elementary School에서 개최된 모의 의회 청문회에 심사위원(judge)으로 참석하였습니다. 모의 의회 청문회는 하워드 카운티의 5학년 학생들이 사회과목에서 1년 동안 배운 4개 유닛을 얼마나 잘 이해하고 있는지를 퍼포먼스를 통해 평가하는 프로그램입니다. 학생들은 헌법 전문가 역할을 맡아 모의 의회 위원회(judges) 앞에서 성명을 발표하고, 발표 후에는 위원들의 질문에 답변합니다. 학생들은 여러 평가 항목에 따라 심사를 받습니다. Waverly Elementary School 학생들의 뛰어난 실력에 깊은 감탄을 받았습니다.

KSM at the OAH Investiture Ceremony for Chief Administrative Law Judge Chung Ki Pak

The Korean Society of Maryland (KSM) attended the Office of Administrative Hearings’ Investiture Ceremony for Chief Administrative Law Judge Chung Ki Pak on Friday, May 29, at the Maryland Governor’s Reception Room in Annapolis, MD, joining in the celebration. Judge Pak will serve his second term from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2032.

메릴랜드 한인회(KSM)는 5월 29일 금요일, 메릴랜드주 아나폴리스에 위치한 주지사 접견실에서 열린 메릴랜드 행정심판국(OAH) 박충기 행정법원장 취임식에 참석해 함께 축하했습니다. 박 법원장은 2026년 1월 1일부터 2032년 1월 1일까지 두 번째 임기를 수행하게 됩니다.

KSM at AAPI HoCo Festival on May 30, 2026

The Korean Society of Maryland (KSM) successfully concluded the AAPI Howard County (AAPI HoCo) Festival held on May 30 at Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods. We extend our sincere gratitude to Howard County, County Executive Calvin Ball and his leadership team, Howard County elected officials, and the AAPI leadership for their generous support. Above all, we deeply appreciate everyone who attended the AAPI HoCo Festival and visited the KSM.

메릴랜드 한인회는 5월 30일 Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods에서 열린 AAPI Howard County (AAPI HoCo) Festival을 성공적으로 마무리하였습니다. 후원해 주신 Howard County와 County Executive Calvin Ball을 비롯한 리더십, Howard County 선출직 공직자 여러분, 그리고 AAPI 리더십께 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드립니다. 무엇보다도 AAPI HoCo Festival에 참석하시고 메릴랜드 한인회를 찾아 주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다.
