The battle over this latest attempt to gerrymander South Carolina may be over, but the fight for fair representation is far from finished.

For generations, redistricting has been used to determine whose voices are heard and whose voices are silenced. While this effort to redraw our congressional maps to diminish minority representation has been stopped for now, new challenges are already on the horizon.

Do you know how legislative and congressional districts are drawn? Do you know who draws them and how those decisions impact your community, your vote, and your representation?

Join me for a Redistricting Town Hall as we break down what redistricting is, how maps are created, and what citizens can do to advocate for fair and equitable representation.

Democracy works best when people are informed, engaged, and ready to act. Come learn, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

To the Richland County Legislative Delegation:
Thank you for continuing to stand in the gap during these challenging and defining moments for our state and our democracy. As attacks on voting rights and fair representation continue, we encourage you to remain prayerful, purposeful, and persistent in the work before you.
Remain prayerful as you seek wisdom, courage, and discernment while making decisions that impact the people you were elected to serve. The voices of the people are counting on leadership that listens, protects, and stands on truth and justice.
Remain purposeful in your mission to defend fair representation, protect voting rights, and ensure that the communities of Richland County and South Carolina are not silenced or divided. Every action, every vote, and every stand you take matters.
Remain persistent even when the road becomes difficult. The struggle for justice has never been easy, but history reminds us that progress comes when leaders refuse to back down in the face of pressure and opposition.
Know that many are praying with you, standing beside you, and believing that truth will prevail. Continue to lead with courage, integrity, and commitment to the people.
