Great race out at Beck this weekend. Didn’t have as smooth of a race as we’d hoped for, but it was also sort of expected coming out of a long winter and being on a brand new bike for basically the first time. Regardless of the outcome, it was great to just be among the community connecting with other riders, sharing the and spending the day doing the most therapeutic thing possible…riding

Huge shoutout to for organizing the event. Already looking forward to the St. G’Narles Enduro in June salute

As the sun sets on 2025, we here at EVA STL are taking a moment to reflect on what was not only the previous year, but also our first full year as a chapter. Military veterans are a special breed, conditioned to achieve success and to accept nothing less than an exceptional performance. We are also well aware of the realities of planning in an ever changing operational environment, and know how to make the most of the setbacks that will come our way. Those things considered, we are incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish in year one. We went from a concept in late 2024 to fully functional group of riders by June 2025. We were able to hold about 10 therapy rides, including our annual Veterans Day ride, and create a space for more than a dozen veterans to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of MTB. We gained some local recognition, participated in local races, and laid a strong foundation to build from in 2026.

It was a great start but there were several valuable lessons learned as well. We’re looking to hit it hard in 2026 in 3 key areas: local visibility/engagement, volume of rides/events, and mental health support. We aim to build further by increasing involvement with the trail building efforts of Gateway Off-Road Cyclists, becoming much more visible in the local race series with Loki Events, establishing strong relationships with local bike shops, and connecting with a network of local therapists for our riders to reach out to when they need that extra support. We believe these things will improve our position to reach more veterans and ensure positive word is passed about our organization.

We would like to thank everyone that has been a part of this first year for their support and are looking forward to growing with you more. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to collaborate and build the local MTB community as a whole. If you’re interested in what we do and would like to get involved, feel free to send us a message and we’ll be happy to welcome you to the team 🫡

P.s. - Here’s a little photo dump of some of our favorite moments from the last year or so!

It’s not often that we are gifted a warm front this late in the year. As such, we definitely couldn’t miss the opportunity to get a winter therapy ride in this morning. The foggy backdrop made everything even better!

Looking ahead to the New year, we’ve got some big plans and adjustments for the chapter so stay tuned for an update regarding what’s to come. We are stoked to grow more in 2026 and continue to provide a much needed outlet for veterans to connect and take care of their

Great to see The Dirt Therapy Project receiving some big time recognition from Pinkbike! We always say that our service didn’t end when the uniform came off, it just took a new direction and meaning. Hope to see more and more recognition of the many groups out there taking care of our veterans 🫡

Such a great turnout for our ride at Shepherd on Saturday! I’d like to give a tremendous to for allowing us to hold the ride there for the second year in a row. The trails are amazing and the staff is phenomenal. Supportive, incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable are just a few words to describe their team, and we consider ourselves fortunate to have them so close to home.

Overall, there were many great runs down some of the most trails you can find, great memories were made, and EVA STL successfully completed another ride! It’s been a great year for us and we’re already looking forward to more rides and growth in the year ahead. To all the out there, thank you for your service and we’ll see you on the trails. 🫡

Shoutout to EVA STL rider Rich Miller on the 1st place podium in the 50+ group at the Beck Enduro last weekend! He then showed up and shredded with us at Shepherd all day yesterday for our Veterans Day ride. I don’t know what you all call it, but I call it life goals. Congrats brother!
