Oh boy!! What a great day of basketball! Oakdale Broncos Columbia Gold Diggers Granny Basketball Team and Us, the Granny Basketball California Poppies played 3 games. Best we have played. We actually WON a game! We raised $541 for Center For A Non Violent Community and appreciate the support of our sponsors including Chicken Ranch Rancheria Nature's Whole Food Depot Adventist Health Black Oak Casino Resort Telfer Graphics Oak Valley Community Bank Columbia Frosty Pinocchio’s, Hotel Restaurant and What Cheer Saloon Granny Basketball League This is our season finale but we have an exhibition game fundraiser on June 20th. THIS SATURDAY!!!! May 30th. 3 games, starting at noon, with The Oakdale Broncos, Columbia Gold Diggers Granny Basketball Team and us, The California Poppies. Our charity this year is Center For A Non Violent Community a group that does fabulous work to help individuals and families in our community. This will be our final League play for the 2026 season, before we head off to the Granny Nationals in Iowa! Admission by donation to CNVC.

Our final league game of the season for Granny Basketball League in California. Playing three games against the Columbia Gold Diggers Granny Basketball Team and Oakdale Broncos. Sadly, the Columbia Elementary gymnasium was not available, but happily, the Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Hall was, so we will be playing in Tuolumne! Admission is by donation to our selected charity, Center For A Non Violent Community. Mark your calendars! It will be a lot of fun. After this.... Granny Nationals or Bust!

One of our players called in to this great episode of KQED’s “Forum” program today to plug granny basketball !! (Can be heard at approximately 20:40but the whole episode is really worth a listen- talking about a new book called “Court Queens” about the history of women’s basketball).

We are going to be in Visalia this Sunday with The Oakdale Broncos.

Visalia will host a 'granny basketball' exhibition game on April 19, showcasing 1920s rules and unique uniforms.
